Regulatory Questions

Is retatrutide FDA approved?

No. As of September 2026, retatrutide is not approved by the FDA for any indication. It remains an investigational drug in Phase 3 clinical development under the TRIUMPH program. FDA approval requires successful Phase 3 trial completion, a regulatory submission, and FDA review.

Can retatrutide be compounded?

No. Retatrutide does not currently satisfy the federal requirements that would allow it to be used as a bulk drug substance for compounding under sections 503A or 503B. It has no approved NDA, is not on any FDA shortage list, and does not appear on the 503B bulk drug substance list.

What is the retatrutide FDA approval timeline?

Following TRIUMPH-1 topline results (May 21, 2026), Eli Lilly announced plans for a Q1 2027 regulatory submission to the FDA. Standard FDA review takes approximately 10–12 months from acceptance; Priority Review (if granted) takes approximately 6 months. Approval and commercial availability are not guaranteed.

Can you buy retatrutide online?

No legitimate pharmaceutical-grade retatrutide is available for purchase online. Products sold as "retatrutide" by research chemical vendors are not pharmaceutical-grade, are not sterile, and are not authorized for human use. Purchasing or using such products carries serious legal and health risks.
